Tucked along the vibrant stretch of Tras Street, KOKO Café & Patisserie is Karim Group’s latest addition to its growing lifestyle and hospitality portfolio. Officially opened on 16 December 2024, this tranquil concept brings a thoughtful blend of Japanese aesthetics, artisanal craftsmanship, and culinary comfort to Singapore’s cafe scene.
Adjoining our modern izakaya, Gyutan-Tan, KOKO offers a softer, more contemplative counterpoint. Minimalist and warm, it is designed as a sanctuary for slow living—where guests can pause, recharge, and savour life’s quieter pleasures.
Brunch, The Japanese Way
Launched to much anticipation, KOKO’s brunch menu brings together the comfort of Western-style plates with the quiet elegance of traditional Japanese flavours. Available on weekends and public holidays from 10:00am to 3:00pm, the menu is crafted for easy mornings, shared plates, and meaningful company.

The Asa Gohan Set pays tribute to the traditional Japanese breakfast—a harmonious collection of ten petite side dishes, featuring grilled fish, seasonal pickles, and simmered vegetables, complemented by mixed barley rice and a pot of dashi. Served chazuke-style, with warm broth poured over the rice, this nourishing combination provides a grounding start to the day.

For those seeking a heartier indulgence, the Big Brekkie presents a generous plate of mentaiko cheese scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, crispy tater tots, fresh greens, and fluffy toasted brioche — comforting fare with a refined Japanese twist.
Other brunch offerings include the Onigiri Set, Tsukune Burger, and a sweet-savvy Doughnut Duo Set, catering to cravings whether savoury, filling, or sweet.
Desserts That Delight
At the heart of KOKO’s pastry kitchen is Japanese pastry chef Mei Kubota, whose creations are a masterclass in elegance and restraint. Each dessert is designed to highlight seasonal ingredients and delicate textures, resulting in offerings that are as refined as they are indulgent.
Signature items include the Yam Mont Blanc — a stunning treat of crisp meringue, tangy berry purée, airy whipped cream, and a swirl of luscious purple yam paste.

Another crowd-pleaser is the Okinawan Rum Chocolate Sand, featuring layers of dark chocolate ganache infused with Japanese rum and hazelnut praline, all nestled within a buttery, salted biscuit crust.
More Than Just Coffee
KOKO’s beverage menu ventures beyond traditional espresso offerings. Alongside classic coffee favourites, the café serves a range of Japanese-inspired drinks.

The Rose Matcha delivers a floral twist, pairing the earthy depth of matcha with the subtle fragrance of rose, while the Blue Pea Caramel Latte marries the natural sweetness of butterfly pea flower with rich caramel, resulting in a visually captivating and flavourful blend.

For a more decadent option, the Float My Milk series combines creamy milk with a scoop of house-made ice cream, such as Kurogoma (black sesame) or matcha.
